Jubilee Celebration in the Western Region
CSJP Community, family and friends gathered on Saturday, June 17th to “PROCLAIM HOPE, GIVE THANKS, & CELEBRATE” the Jubilees of five amazing women: Sisters Rose Donohoe and Margaret O’Neill - 80 years; Sister Margie Fort - 50 years; Sisters Margaret Dimond and Sukyi Hur - 25 years. Father Steve Sallis, pastor, presided at the Eucharistic Liturgy at Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue, WA.
In her powerful homily, Sister Susan Francois reflected: “Margaret, Rose, Margie, Margaret, and Sukyi … we give thanks to God for your presence among us and for your continued response to God’s love in the service our mission and charism of peace. You truly are gift and blessing to us! Their response to God’s love has brought healing to those suffering from pain, be it psychological, physical or spiritual; and education to students of all ages. They have reached out to the homebound, to men and women experiencing homelessness, to migrant farm workers and to immigrant communities in our midst.”
A choir made up of Sisters, Associates and friends filled the church with songs of joy and praise. The Korean Choir of St. Madeleine Sophie Parish where Sukyi ministers were present to sing the post-communion song.
Guests were then welcomed to the Peace and Spirituality Center at St. Mary-on-the-Lake to enjoy a buffet luncheon and an afternoon of celebration surrounded by spring flowers and sunshine!
