Advocacy
Sister Suzanne Golas speaking on behalf of Waterspirit at the New Jersey Capital.
This Congregation had its origin in the founder's response to the social concerns and needs of the time.
— Constitution 4
Recalling Jesus' identification with the
prophetic tradition,
we develop a critical, sensitive conscience
regarding religious, social, cultural,
economic, and political realities,
and we direct our efforts
to actions which bring peace through justice.
— Constitution 23
In accord with our tradition and our charism of peace through justice, we seek to understand the economic and political realities which affect the lives of the poor, marginalized, women and children in our own time, and to collaborate with organizations working for justice.
As a Congregation, we sponsor and support nonprofit organizations that promote justice and peace, both in the communities where we live and in our increasingly global reality:
Harbour Place Day Centre
Harbour Place Day Centre is a ministry for the homeless and other socially excluded groups started by Sr. Hilda Baxter, CSJP.
