Peace through Justice Worker
The Peace through Justice Worker serves the United Kingdom region in partnership with the Congregation Peace through Justice Facilitator. The role involves supporting the Leadership Team in promoting our charism of peace through justice among our members. This includes creating content for monthly newsletters and providing presentations and workshops; collaborating with other religious orders, organisations, and interfaith groups; and coordinating and participating in community experiences, service opportunities, and other educational formats for the sisters, associates, and members of the public.
David Richardson currently serves as the part-time Peace through Justice Worker for the UK region, starting his position in February 2023.
Employment and Education
David's professional journey started with training as an electrician, where he worked on industrial control systems across various locations in the United Kingdom. Alongside, he volunteered as a youth and small group leader in his local church. In 1996, David felt a calling to change careers and became a social worker, which he pursued and graduated with a BA (Hons) in Social Work from Nottingham Trent University in 2003. For almost two decades, David served as a front-line social worker for children and families, with the last six years as team manager until he retired from social work in 2022. In the same year, David completed an Introduction to Climate Justice and Equity course through the University of Glasgow.
David is an active member of the Nottingham Trent Vineyard church and has taken on numerous leadership positions, including leading house groups and a team that visits inmates at the local prison. He is happily married to Lindsey, and they have two grown children named Isaac and Naomi.
